January:

Historical Parade of the three Kings. City: Desenzano

S. Antonio Abate nel Bresciano - this Saint's day is celebrated with festivities, food and a purifying bonfire around which the merriment centres especially in the Trompia Valley. City: Worth to see are the ones celebrated at Bedizzole, Lonato and Casto.

February:

Antique market and used-goods exhibition - this tiny, mystical village that sits on the edge of one of the world?s most beautiful mountained lakes hosts a monthly market in piazza Malvezzi that runs from morning to night. The sixty or so participants are selected by the qualities of the goods they sell, which are usually laid out in a picturesque style. City: Desenzano sul Garda

Carnival with masked dancers. City: Ponte Caffaro

The traditional Bagoss Carnival famous for its floats and dance shows and for its secular ball in traditional costumes and colored hats. Male singing bands go through the town using the old Latin language. City: Bagolino

Festival of the patron Saint Valentine - an antique religious festival that involved church ceremonies. Features stalls selling honey, toys, food and knick knacks. The restaurants feature a special locally produced type of ravioli called 'casonsei'. City: Breno

Patronal feast of Saints Faustino and Giovita. This is a festival that fills the city center with people who peruse the stalls, listen to the music and eat the food. Citizens that are named Fausta, Faustina, Faustino or Giovita carry special importance on this day and the red carpet is rolled out for them. There are spectacular fireworks at night. City: Brescia

March:

EXA - firearm and accessory show in the Val Trompia, a valley lying to the north of the city of Brescia, that has been producing arms since the second half of the fourteenth century. City: Brescia

May:

Mille Miglia (Thousand Mile Race) - this is a modern non-competitive, rally-style incarnation of the world famous race that in the 30's and 40's gave some of the top names in car racing their fame. City: Brescia

June:

August:

The Festival of Mid-Summer - The fathers and sons of Crone form individual teams and light giant bonfires that they have constructed on the beach. They cherish the prize that is awarded to the fire that burns the tallest and the fire that burns the longest. City: Crone

Palio di Breno, situated under a lovely twelfth-century castle, the town schedules events that run recitals and cooking contests to rifle, pistol and shotgun competitions. Merrymaking increases in intensity as the month progresses and culminates in a donkey race. City: Breno

September:

Sagra della Zucca (Pumpkin Festival). City: Sale Marasino.

Sagra delle Mura (the Celebration of the Wall) - this delightful walled city hosts a revocation of medieval times in honour of the contract of unification between the cities of Mura and Riva in the year 1192. Parades evoking various courts and kings are almost non-stop and all participants are fully clothed in authentic period costumes accompanied by flag-waving units that compete against each other using their acrobatic flag tossing skills. The residents of the town all walk to and fro dressed as medieval citizens and even use ancient pieces of money to buy their goods during this weekend. Wandering minstrels play medieval instruments while vendors hawk their wares from stalls. There are treasure hunts and games, food and drink, and a chance to spend a day or two immersed in a life-style that vanished centuries ago. A spectacular firework is also on show. City: Palazzolo sull'Oglio
